Not every definition is equally calibrated.

The Metrology of the Abstract (MoA) applies the principles of metrology—the science of measurement—to concepts, definitions, mechanisms, and abstract systems.

Instead of asking:

"What does this word mean?"

We ask:

"How accurately does this definition represent reality, preserve intent, reduce ambiguity, and predict observable consequences?"

The Metrology of the Abstract exists to continuously calibrate the conceptual tools humans use every day.

Every Definition Is Measured

Every calibrated definition consists of two complementary parts:

  • The Abstract — What the concept means.
  • The Mechanism — How the concept is correctly evaluated and applied.

Each calibrated definition undergoes a structured evaluation using transparent calibration standards.

Every concept is calibrated along two independent dimensions.

Calibration Reports

The Metrology of the Abstract publishes independent calibration reports on definitions found in publicly available dictionaries and reference sources.

We do not replace those sources. We measure them.

These reports apply transparent calibration standards to existing definitions and return a structured evaluation of how well they currently perform as conceptual instruments.

These entries are held to exactly the same standards, the same standing rules, and the same continuous recalibration requirements as any external source we evaluate. No special exemption applies.
