Many systems publish only polished conclusions. The Metrology of the Abstract publishes both the conclusions and the calibration process that produced them. Rather than hiding early ideas, competing proposals, design iterations, discarded approaches, and calibration discussions, we preserve them as part of the calibration history. Calibration is not merely about arriving at an answer. Calibration is also about making the reasoning behind that answer traceable. Readers are encouraged to evaluate not only the current calibration position, but also the path taken to reach it. === This page IS === * A transparent record of conceptual development. * A collection of working design sketches. * A record of calibration reasoning. * Part of the calibration history of the Metrology of the Abstract. * Evidence supporting later calibration decisions. * IS allowed to be inconsistent across sketches; inconsistency is a feature of the record, not a defect of the page type. === This page is NOT === * NOT a finalized standard. * NOT normative documentation. * NOT an official calibration procedure. * NOT expected to remain internally consistent between sketches. * NOT expected to represent the current consensus. * NOT evidence of uncertainty. * NOT evidence of poor quality. * NOT evidence that the project lacks method, or that later instruments have no standing Some sketches may eventually become independent conceptual instruments. Some may merge. Some may be superseded. Some may be discarded. Nothing is hidden simply because a better calibrated solution is later discovered. Earlier sketches remain valuable because calibration history is itself evidence. Transparency is a calibration principle. == Minimal publish rule (every word) == *Intent of the run (what is being tested). *Mechanism versions + patches tied to counterexamples. *Survived / floor + residual uncertainty. *Standing (Self-Assessed until independent re-run). *Path (sketches / log / CR) linked, not deleted when superseded. *No permission.
